Most of the trekking routes to Machu Picchu, go in the high altitude. Because Cusco is located at an elevation of 11000 ft. in the Southern Andes of Peru. The altitude will be always a very influent fact for travelers coming from lower places. That is why we suggest travelers to have good acclimatization to the altitude. Then you will be prepared to go on any of the hiking trips.

The Huchuy Qosqo trek to Machu Picchu has a reputation of being the easiest trekking route. The trail still takes you to considerable elevation of 4,200 m on it is high point. This comes with obvious altitude sickness risks for some of the trekkers.

Acclimatization

For accurate acclimatization to the altitude. We suggest travelers arriving in Cusco at least 2 or 3 day prior to the trek departure.
