This 9 day Peru Rainforest trip combines Peru’s most varied landscape from the extensive coastal desert, the highlands on the Andes, to the incredible amazon rainforest. We will experience the three biggest natural regions of Peru in one trip including enigmatic places like: Cusco the historical capital of Peru and the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we will explore the exuberant Peruvian Jungle ending in the biggest spiritual center of the Incas, Machu Picchu

Upon arrival in Lima, our representative will be waiting to welcome you. Look for the sign that says “Top Peru Trips” with your name clearly marked on it. You will be greeted and transported to your hotel.
After arrival at the hotel, our representative will assist you with check-in. You will have a brief introduction about the itinerary for the following day and some recommendations of the restaurants, banks and major places to visit. We have no planned activities for this day so you can rest and be prepared for your Peru Rain-forest trip.
Today, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a buffet breakfast at the Hotel. The established schedules for the breakfast are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. After breakfast, you will have a free time to rest and relax before starting your journey.
The guide will pick you up at 2:15 p.m. and continue our guided tour called The Essential Lima. We will visit “The City of Kings” including the outstanding architectural sites of the main square where the Government Palace is located, City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace.
The tour will continue with a visit to the San Francisco Convent, an architectonic jewel dating back to the 16th century. On our way to the modern area of the city, we will cross the exclusive district of San Isidro, the new financial center of the city. Our tour will finish in Miraflores, where we will visit the “Parque del Amor” (Love Park) an excellent place to take in the beautiful scenery and the fresh air of the sea. The tour takes approximately 3 ½ hours.
In the morning, you will be able to enjoy breakfast at the hotel. We will schedule a time to pick you up at the hotel and transport you to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our representative and transported to the operation office where we will register to get the waterway permits (optional to leave your luggage).
We will travel to the port of the Infierno community and board a motorized boat. We will travel along the Tambopata River until we reach our lodge located in the heart of the Tambopata Candamo zone and the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park.
As we travel along the river, we will observe interesting flora and fauna. We will be able to take in the beauty of the birds; Garzas, Macaws, Parrots, Tucans and Shanshos.
In the afternoon, our guide will take us for a short walk into the rainforest, rich in species of flora and fauna in the area. In the evening, a traditional dinner will be served for us at the lodge’s restaurant.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, we will travel in our motorized boat along the Tambopata River until we arrive at the Parrot clay-lick. The observation look- out is located approximately 30 minutes from the clay-lick. The feast starts with a minimum of five different species that feed on special clay (Psitácidos, Macaws, Parrots and parraquits), vital to their metabolism. This is a marvelous, multicolored feast spectacle.
Afterward, we will visit one of the native communities to observe their daily life style. We will also have chance to learn about the traditional methods of jungle farming where we will be able to observe a variety of tropical fruits, medicinal plants, condiments and other local products (cocoa, bananas, café, coconut). We will also be able to enjoy a tropical food tasting. When we arrive back at the lodge, we will be served a savory meal traditional to the Amazon.
After lunch, we will travel downriver for 15 minutes. A 50 minute hike will take us to Tres Chimbadas Lake. This area is inhabited by birds; the Shanshos, Pin Duck,Garzas and Kingfisher.
Something remarkable to observe in this area is the family of giant River Otters. The Otters are an endangered species and many people visit this region of the rainforest just to get a glimpse of them in their natural environment. We will have an opportunity to see a traditional jungle fishing demonstration. This is your chance to catch the famous Piraña fish. In the afternoon, we will head back to lodge where you will have some time to relax.
After breakfast at the lodge, we will be transported back to airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our representative, who will transport you to the hotel. The afternoon is free so you can acclimate to the altitude of Cusco.
In the afternoon, we will pick you up and start our sightseeing of Cusco. The guide will take to the Imperial City, a living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. We begin this tour visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, built over Qorikancha, the ancient Incan Sun Temple.
Next stop will be at the main square, which is located near the cathedral. As we travel outside of the city, we will visit the Sacsayhuaman Fortress which is an example of military Incan architecture. We will finish our tour visiting the archaeological sites of Qenqo, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay. The tour takes Approximately 4 hours.
After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel at 8:15 a.m. We will begin driving toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will stop at the Mirador of Taray, to have a classic view of the Urubamba valley. The crops look like they dress the mountains like carpets. We will arrive at the traditional market of Pisac, where we will have free time to interact with the local craftsmen. We will continue to the town of Urubamba for a buffet lunch.
In the afternoon we will visit Ollantaytambo. It is a beautiful town of Incan foundation with remarkable water channels, stone streets, colorful dress, native people and an impressive fortress on the hill that leads up to the Sun Temple.
In the evening, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes. At your arrival there will be 10 minutes walk to the. The journey by train takes approximately 1 hour and forty minutes.
You will have time to enjoy an early morning breakfast at the hotel. Our guide will pick you up to continue with Peru rainforest trip. We will then board the bus heading to the Citadel of Machu Picchu.
You will have 2 hours guided tour of the Citadel. Places to visit are: the Sun Temple, sacred sun dial (Intihuatana), Royal Palace, Temple of the Three Windows, main temple, Sacred Roca, warehouses and a large central square. This will be an unforgettable magical and mystical experience. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the area on your own.
In the afternoon, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to eat lunch and take the train back to Cusco. You will be transported back to the hotel
The journey by train takes approximately 3 hours and forty minutes.
