In our Machu Picchu day tour travelers will have a beautiful train ride to the town of Aguas Calientes and from there you will ascend by bus to the archaeological complex; you will be part of a guided Machu Picchu Day tour and afterwards, there will be a free time for you to explore the ruins on your own. At the scheduled time, you will return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train for the journey back to Cusco. the train ride is approx. 3 hours
Day 1.- Cusco – Machu Picchu- Cusco
To start the Machu Picchu day tour, we will come to pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the train station. We will travel on the Vista dome or expedition class train to the town of Aguas Calientes town. During the journey, we will have the chance to see part of the Sacred Valley, following the course of Urubamba river we will observe the hanging bridge which signals the beginning of the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. After ending the valley we will enter in a canyon, following it until we reach Aguas Calientes town, located at the bottom of Machu Picchu Mountain.
Afterwards we will board the buses to travel for another 30 minutes to arrive in the legendary lost city of the Incas, “Machu Picchu”. There will be a guided tour to the most Important places like: the Sun Temple, Royal Palace, Main Temple, Three Windows Temple, Sun Dial, sacred rock and the farming sector to have the classic view; after the tour you will have free time to explore the site on you own.
In the afternoon, at the scheduled time we will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, to catch the return train for the journey back to Cusco. Upon your arrival to the station you will be transferred to your hotel. End of Machu Picchu day tour.
